Participating in events helps greatly to expand the presence the piano and music have in a child’s life, and this is very good for making music a life-long love, whether or not they actually become a musician. Events also provide motivational goals and, with performing events, enable learning things that really can’t be learned in any way. Thus, participating in some events is highly recommended.

Piano Guild Auditions
A division of the American College of Musicians, the Piano Guild created the Guild Auditions to to encourage growth and enjoyment through the study of piano and to establish definite goals and awards—in non-competitive auditions—for students of all levels, from the earliest beginner to the gifted prodigy. With the exception of our “special” programs, teachers have the flexibility to choose all repertoire for student auditions. Students are judged on individual merit, by a well-qualified music professional, in the areas of accuracy, continuity, phrasing, pedaling, dynamics, rhythm, tempo, tone, interpretation, style, and technique.
