Why Piano?
Although what we mainly see when someone plays the piano is their fingers working, playing the piano uses the body, mind and soul in concentrated coordination.

Why Piano With Kevin Guess?
I bring over 30 years of knowledge, skill and experience as both a musician and teacher to my teaching, always striving to develop skills, knowledge, understanding and expression in a way that is fun, engaging and meaningful for the student.
What are benefits of learning to play the piano?
The benefits are truly immense. Many studies have found links between learning to play music, in general, and especially the piano and excelling academically. Learning to play the piano also provides a great foundation for learning to play another instrument or sing. And people who continue to play piano into old age rarely develop arthritis in their hands/fingers, or Alzheimer’s or Dementia. And by “old age” I don’t mean merely post-retirement. Many people continue playing into their 90s or 100s.
Although it has many practical benefits, we play music for the same reason we listen to it: Because we like to.
“Music is the universal language of mankind.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
